Initially it’s scheduled for release on 14th of October but now it’s going to be available on 22nd of October on the airwaves of Vodafone UK.

Emerging reports are holding a Google “type approval” testing issue responsible for the delay of the much-awaited smartphone.

The HTC Desire HD, which was showcased at company’s London-based conference last month, come equipped with an 8-megapixel photo snapper with high-definition video recording capabilities, a 4.3-inch LCD display, a 1GHz Qualcomm 8255 Snapdragon processor and MicroSD memory card slot.

The device runs the latest version of Google’s Android, codenamed AKA Froyo, which brings Flash player support, along with USB tethering and Wi-Fi hotspot functionality.

Mobile phone operator Vodafone UK will reportedly offer the HTC Desire HD smartphone for free on a two-year contract on £35-a-month deal, which will bring 900 minutes, unlimited text messages along with 750MB of monthly data when purchasing online.

Purchasing in-stores will slash that offer to merely 600 minutes and 500MB of data; however, pricing and contract length will remain the same.
