Apple iPad 3 is all set to get even leaner, according to reports the third generation of iPad will have a slimmer frame than the previous generation and will boast a high density retina display. The high density retina was earlier expected to be included on the iPad 2 generation, but somehow Apple failed to achieve that objective.

Apple iPad 3 will be 0.7 mm thinner than the second generation and will have a pin-sharp screen like the one on iPhone 4/4S. Apple has been working with Sharp over the years for technology that would a super slim device to boast a HD display. The iPad 3 will also have 4G, wireless stylus and E-ink screen support, so the tablet will also be given boost as an e-reader.

An analyst was quoted as saying “we believe that Apple and Sharp together have a modified IGZO (indium, gallium, zinc) technology to achieve 330 dpi, which is sufficient for an HD display while not using IPS, nor having to include dual-bar LED backlighting.
“In our view, this should lead to several design advantages, namely the device can be thinner, battery life should be longer, and the overall experience for users should be meaningfully improved.”
